Hanoi and Saigon have named among the world’s best place for the food by Caterwings, and food ordering services website in Europe.
On the list of 100 food destinations ranked by by 20,000 food journalists and restaurant critics, Saigon named as 80th position while Hanoi is 87th.
The research began by analyzing thousands of food distribution centers to determine the final list of the top 100 cities based on expert opinion of their culinary scenes, quality of service, diversity of cuisine, affordability for food local and visitors, the proportion of restaurants per 10,000 inhabitants, the classification of high-end restaurants, the hours worked with the minimum wage to offer a dinner for two, the relationship between fast food and restaurants, and the quality of food in the streets and food trucks.
On this year, top 10 “delicious” cities are San Sebastian (Spain), Tokyo, New York, Barcelona, Singapore, Paris, Madrid, Lima, London and Munich.
Manuel Queiroz, CEO of Caterwings said that “Every delicious destination in this index can offer inspiration to food industry professionals such as ourselves, as well as burgeoning chefs, gastronomes and globetrotters”.
Hanoi and Saigon have received applause of global food more than a few times.
Vietnam’s capital got the second spot after Tokyo on list of the world’s 17 greatest cities for food by Telegraph in February.
Anthony Bourdain: Parts Unknown, a CNN’s show had name Hanoi’s Bun Cha and Egg Coffee as must try foods. And this unique coffee of Hanoi also appeared in stories by NatGeo and The New York Times.
