This simple guideline will show you how to make floating cake or banh troi, in an easy way. Banh troi is a traditional Vietnamese dessert and it is often served during Lunar New Year.
Ingredients
450 g sticky rice flour
50 g ordinary rice flour
250 g brown sugar
Salt, scraped copra, roasted sesame seeds.
Preparation
Mix sticky and ordinary rice flour with some warm water and salt in a pot; shape the rice paste into dumplings with brown sugar fillings; boil the dumplings in water until cooked; remove them from the pot to a bowl of cool, previously boiled water; the transfer to a plate; scatter sesame seeds and scraped copra on top.
