From 1st January next year, Asian travelers is allow to use e-wallet for electronic payments at duty-free and shop in the international terminal of Tan Son Nhat International Airport.
A cooperation agreement was signed between VIMO (Vimo Technology Joint Stock Company – vimo.vn) and (Southern Airport Services Joint Stock Company) to start a whole new electronic payment system that help Asian visitors able to pay for their bills.
With a smartphone install WeChat application, travelers can easy settle payment by scan a QR code without carry wallet with cash with them.
Nguyen Van Hung Cuong, SASCO’s deputy director, said that in accordance with the trend of electronic commerce, the company wants to catch up, leverage technology to optimise the business model, bringing convenience, options, quality and competitive prices to customers. The application of this advanced payment method also contributes to reducing the proportion of cash payments under the Government’s guidelines, he added.
At the moment, VIMO is the only company that offer electronic payment services in Vietnamese currency for people who use WeChat at VIMO acceptable shops. VIMO has 500 stores in whole country which accepting WeChat payment, include 50 shops in international airport.
