People mostly must apply for a visa before coming to Vietnam but citizens of some national can travel without a visa and this article will provide every information you need to know about Vietnam visa.

Exceptions:

Phu Quoc Island

Travelers who are not exempted from visa requirements can visit Phú Quốc without a visa for up to 30 days. They must arrive at Phú Quốc directly from a third country, or from airports in Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh City where they will clear immigration and proceed to the domestic terminals.

Nationality by Country

1. All citizens from following countries can stay in Vietnam with free visa:

30 days: Cambodia, Indonesia, Kyrgyzstan, Laos, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand

21 days: Philippines

14 days: Brunei, Myanmar

15 days: Belarus, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Norway, Russia, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, United Kingdom

2. Citizens from following countries holding diplomatic or official passport can stay in Vietnam with free visa:

90 days: Armenia, Algeria, Argentina, Bangladesh, Brazil, Bulgaria, Chile, Colombia, Dominican, Ecuador, Egypt, El Salvador, France, Hungary, India, Iraq, Japan, South Korea, Mexico, Myanmar, Moldova, Mongolia, Montenegro, Morocco, Mozambique, Pakistan, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Russia, Serbia, Seychelles, Singapore, Slovak, Slovenia, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Tanzania, Tunisia, Turkey, Ukraine, UAE, Uruguay, Venezuela.

60 days: Uzbekistan (only holding diplomatic passport).

30 days: Angola, Azerbaijan, China, Croatia, Kazakhstan, Myanmar.

3. Citizens from following countries holding diplomatic or official passport are exempt a visa to Vietnam:

Afghanistan, Albania, Belarus, Cuba, North Korea, Nicaragua, and Romania.

90 days: Czech, Estonia, Germany, France, Israel, Italy, Poland, Spain, and Switzerland (only holding diplomatic passport).

60 days: Uzbekistan (only holding diplomatic passport).

30 days: Iran (only holding diplomatic passport).

4. Citizens holding APEC business travel card are granted visa-free to Vietnam for up to 60 days.

Transit

Passengers of any nationality may transit through Vietnam by air without a visa for less than 24 hours providing that they do not intend to leave the sterile transit area. Staying overnight in the transit lounge is permitted.
