Can Tho Welcomes 7.5 Millions Visitors In 2017

As newest report, the mekong delta city Can Tho greeted 7.5 millions tourists in 2017, 34% beyond the yearly plan and a 40% grow from previous year.

Total revenue from tourism activities is estimated at 2.9 trillion VND in the year, 45% higher than the set target and up 61%  year-on-year.

This good report thanks for municipal authorities to promote the city’s images and tourism potential, and stronger cooperation between local tourism firms with their counterparts in and outside the country.

As a plan, Can Tho expect to serve 2.45 million holidaymakers staying overnight in 2018, up 28.9% against 2017.

At the moment, the city focus on create more typical tourism product such as water-way tours in connection with historical and cultural tourism sites, trade villages, and eco-tourism sites; and promoting the tourism form of Meeting, Incentive, Convention and Exhibition (MICE) and homestay.

On 31st December, Can Tho will welcome international cruise visitors operated by France’s Titan Fleet tourism group for the first time. This is hoped to open prospects for further promoting water-way tourism products in the city.
