By the ends of this year, Hanoi will welcome nearly 24 million tourist as a report by the capital city’s Department of Tourism.
Income from tourism of Hanoi increased 15% from previous year, up to 71 trillion VND (3.1 billion USD).
There are about 5 million foreign visitors arrived Hanoi capital. The main markets of tourist are China, the Republic of Korea, Japan, France, the US, Germany, Australia, Malaysia, Thailand and Canada.
The city expect its tourism income will grow at least 8% in 2018, to 72.5 trillion VND (3.2 billion USD) and welcome 25.5 million tourist with 4.58 million foreigners. There is a plan to increase the number of above 3-star hotels to 80, and around 600 below 3-star hotels.
Hanoi will continue cooperation with surrounding provinces and cities such as Quang Ninh, Ninh Binh, Sapa to create more tourism product for visitors. The city also keep improving transport system and links with other destination both in Vietnam and oversea.
It is also looking for investors in several key local projects, including the development of tourism services around West Lake and along Nhat Tan – Noi Bai route, the Ba Vi – Suoi Hai national resort complex and infrastructure development projects.
